𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐚𝐲𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 are two common types of industrial grinding equipment, widely used in building materials, chemicals, metallurgy, and other fields. They differ significantly in structure, working principle, performance characteristics, and application scenarios.Raymond Mill

Structural Principle Differences

1. Vertical Mill
● Structure: Vertical structure, composed of grinding disc, rollers, classifier and transmission device.
● Principle: Adopts material bed grinding, materials are crushed by roller-disc pressure; fine powder is carried by airflow, coarse powder is re-ground.

2. Raymond Mill
● Structure: Mainly consists of cantilever rollers, grinding ring and spiral frame.
● Principle: Materials are crushed by roller-ring compression; fine powder is conveyed by blower to classifier for grading, coarse powder is re-ground.

Performance Characteristics Comparison

● Vertical Mill: High crushing efficiency, low energy consumption, large output (up to hundreds of tons/hour), wide fineness range, suitable for high-hardness materials (slag, coal gangue), moisture adaptability (≤15%), good sealing, low dust emission.
● Raymond Mill: Lower efficiency, higher energy consumption, small output (several to tens of tons/hour), fineness 80-400 meshes, suitable for low-hardness materials (limestone, gypsum), moisture-sensitive (≤6%), weaker sealing.
● Maintenance:Vertical mill has Complex structure, higher maintenance costs, but high degree of automation and strong long-term operational stability; Raymond mill is simple to maintain but needs frequent wear part replacement.

Application & Selection

● Vertical Mill: For large-scale production (cement plants, slag grinding stations), suitable for high-hardness, high-moisture materials.
● Raymond Mill: For small and medium-sized enterprises, suitable for low-hardness materials and fine powder processing, low investment.
